A Wonderful Walk Through Tagore’s Legacy and Old Kolkata
Another fabulous experience with Tirthankar Mukherjee and Paromita from Kolkata Trips! They patiently guided us through Jorasanko Thakur Bari, the historic ancestral home of the Tagore family in North Kolkata and the birthplace of Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore. Their fascinating stories brought the house, its rooms, rich history, and memories to life. We then took a delightful walk down memory lane through the heritage streets and old mansions of North Kolkata, ending up at College Street, browsing its legendary bookshops. The perfect finale was a cup of coffee at the iconic Indian Coffee House, opposite Presidency University—a place famous for its intellectual adda, once frequented by luminaries like Satyajit Ray and Amartya Sen, and immortalized in Manna Dey’s beloved song, “Coffee House er Sei Adda Ta Aaj Aar Nei.” Tirthankar and Paromita were warm, knowledgeable, patient, and wonderful company throughout. A Memorable Journey to Shantiniketan with Kolkata Trips
My wife and I had an absolutely wonderful day trip to Shantiniketan, thanks to Tirthankar Mukherjee and Paromita from Kolkata Trips. Tirthankar planned everything beautifully, from the comfortable car and thoughtful refreshments to a fabulous lunch. He personally accompanied us, sharing fascinating stories and anecdotes about Rabindranath Tagore and Kolkata. Paromita, our knowledgeable tour guide, brought Shantiniketan’s rich history and Tagore’s legacy to life. What made the experience truly special was their warmth, flexibility, attention to detail, and genuine hospitality. They never rushed us, took wonderful photographs, and even treated us to Rabindra Sangeet on the return journey! For my wife, an ardent admirer of Rabindranath Tagore, visiting Shantiniketan was almost a pilgrimage. Tirthankar and Paromita made it an unforgettable experience. A heartfelt thank you to both. Some experiences are so special that words seem inadequate, and our journey through North Kolkata with Kolkata Trips was one of them. From the historic Bonedi Baris and the unforgettable Jorasanko Thakurbari, to browsing books along the legendary College Street and enjoying coffee at the iconic Indian Coffee House, every moment felt like stepping into the Kolkata of my imagination. This wasn’t simply a sightseeing tour. It was a beautifully curated journey through the city’s history, literature, culture, and living heritage. For someone who has loved Bengal and its extraordinary intellectual and cultural legacy all her life, this was truly a dream come true. Kolkata Trips didn’t just arrange the experience; they made that dream possible. And what can I say about Tirthankar and Paromita? They are so much more than knowledgeable and thoughtful guides. Their warmth, kindness, attention to detail, and genuine concern for our comfort made us feel as though we were being looked after by beloved family. Nothing was too much trouble, and our happiness always seemed to be their first priority. There are plenty of tours that show you a city. Very few help you feel its soul. Kolkata Trips gave us memories I will treasure forever, and Tirthankar and Paromita gave us something equally precious — the feeling that we had found family in the City of Joy. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ An Amazing Experience with Kolkata Trips!
During my recent visit to Kolkata from California, I took a day trip with my elderly parents through Kolkata Trips, and it turned out to be an absolutely wonderful experience. Easily one of the best guided tours we've taken! Mr. Mukherjee, the owner and coordinator, was fantastic from the start. He helped us put together a customized itinerary covering Parasnath Jain Temple, Kumartuli, Swami Vivekananda's Ancestral House, and Prinsep Ghat. We were visiting during Durga Puja, which made our stop at Kumartuli extra special. Seeing the incredible craftsmanship and festive atmosphere up close was truly memorable! Our guide was excellent, extremely knowledgeable about Kolkata's history and culture, and explained everything beautifully in both English and Bengali. What impressed me most, though, was the personal care Mr. Mukherjee and his team showed my elderly parents. They were incredibly patient, helping them walk around and making sure they were comfortable throughout the day. That thoughtful attention meant a lot to us. A huge thank you to Mr. Mukherjee and the entire Kolkata Trips team for such a memorable experience. I couldn't recommend them more highly! Unforgettable!!!
My husband and I have had the best day of the trip to India. We thank our guide T. Mukherjee for making this day in Kolkata unforgettable. He has given us a very interesting private tour. He is the most professional guide we have ever had due to his kindness, his attentiveness, his knowledge of the city which is unbeatable, and the gifts he gave us at the end of the tour. Santiniketan and a sleepy car ride
This is a lovely trip and a very long day. It worked well for me on my first day in Kolkata as I adjusted to exhaustion and the time difference. It involves a very long car ride alongside rice paddies and small towns (I saw a monkey), with lovely music, a driver and a guide. When you get to Santiniketan, there is a local guide awaiting you. You can walk the outside of the campus, see old buildings and trees and go into a museum. My guide worked hard to ensure my day was exactly what I wanted.

Kolkata Sightseeing
I had the pleasure of spending a day with Mr. T. Mukherjee and Mr. Ravi Shankar in Kolkata. Was very positively surprised, when on short notice I requested a change of pickup time and place and immediately got a confirming reply. Mr. Shankar is the man for the dates and facts of all Kolkata adding a bit of local Couleur, while Mr. Mukherjee makes sure you feel good and are comfortable. The tour contained all the must-sees but was adjusted in reference to the order depending on your personal needs (early lunch, coffee break etc). There was always an Option A and Option B and I decided which one I preferred. It was a wonderful day and I can only recommend these 2.
