Payments

We offer multiple payment options including Credit Cards / Debit Cards, Internet Banking, UPI, IMPS, NEFT, RTGS and other domestic bank transfers. Please note that domestic bank transfers (within Indian Bank accounts) do not incur any additional charges.

For payments made using Credit Cards / Debit Cards or Internet Banking, there will be an additional charge of 3% for domestic payments and 4% for international payments. These charges are levied as Currency Conversion Fees and Convenience Fees charged by the payment gateways. Please note that the specific fees charged by the payment gateways may vary depending on the transaction amount and other factors.

Tour Itinerary

We reserve the right to change the itinerary while on the tour in accordance with the safety, road conditions, traffic and comfort of the participants either before the tour or while on the trail. We reserve the right to alter any schedule in the interest of the participants’ safety, comfort, and well-being.

We will not be held responsible for any delays or changes in the programme or expenses incurred directly or indirectly due to natural hazards, accidents, machinery or equipment breakdowns, transport disruptions, weather, political closures or any other causes beyond our control.

We will not be held responsible for any loss, injury or damage to personal property or belongings. We do not provide insurance coverage for accidents, sickness, loss due to theft or any other reasons. Guests are advised to obtain appropriate insurance coverage in their home country. All baggage and personal property at all times are the responsibility of the client.

Please note that the specific terms and conditions may vary depending on the tour or travel service that you have booked. If you have any questions or concerns regarding the itinerary, please contact us for further information and assistance.

Cancellation / No Show

If you need to cancel your tour / travel services for any reason, please notify us in writing as soon as possible. The cancellation charges will be applicable from the date that we receive your cancellation request in writing and the charges will be as follows:

• If you cancel 30 or more days prior to the tour start time, you will receive a 100% refund of the tour cost.
• If you cancel between 15 and 30 days, prior to the tour start time, you will receive a 50% refund of the tour cost.
• If you cancel between 4 and 15 days, prior to the tour start time, you will receive a 25% refund of the tour cost.
• If you cancel less than 96 hours before the tour or fail to show up, you will not be eligible for a refund.

Please note that the refund amounts may be subject to deductions for bank charges, currency conversion charges, payment gateway charges and any other non-refundable expenses already incurred by us, such as permits, accommodation, railway ricket booking or transportation costs.

All tour prices displayed on our website are published in United States Dollars (USD) for indicative and international reference purposes, as USD is a widely recognized global currency. However, all invoices issued by Kolkata Trips are generated in Indian Rupees (INR) in accordance with applicable Indian regulations and banking practices.

The final payable amount in INR will be calculated based on the prevailing currency exchange rate at the time of payment acceptance. Our secure payment gateway accepts payments in multiple international currencies for the convenience of our guests worldwide. Depending on your card issuer or payment provider, additional bank charges, foreign exchange conversion fees, or transaction charges may apply, which are beyond our control.

For all refunds, the refundable amount will be calculated strictly on the actual amount received in INR in our bank account at the time of the original transaction. Due to fluctuations in exchange rates and international banking charges, the refunded amount received by the guest in their local currency may differ from the original payment amount. Kolkata Trips shall not be responsible for any loss or difference arising from currency conversion rates, intermediary bank fees, or payment gateway charges.

My husband and I have had the best day of the trip to India. We thank our guide T. Mukherjee for making this day in Kolkata unforgettable. He has given us a very interesting private tour. He is the most professional guide we have ever had due to his kindness, his attentiveness, his knowledge of the city which is unbeatable, and the gifts he gave us at the end of the tour.  Verified Santiniketan and a sleepy car ride
This is a lovely trip and a very long day. It worked well for me on my first day in Kolkata as I adjusted to exhaustion and the time difference. It involves a very long car ride alongside rice paddies and small towns (I saw a monkey), with lovely music, a driver and a guide. When you get to Santiniketan, there is a local guide awaiting you. You can walk the outside of the campus, see old buildings and trees and go into a museum. My guide worked hard to ensure my day was exactly what I wanted.

 Verified Kolkata Sightseeing
I had the pleasure of spending a day with Mr. T. Mukherjee and Mr. Ravi Shankar in Kolkata. Was very positively surprised, when on short notice I requested a change of pickup time and place and immediately got a confirming reply. Mr. Shankar is the man for the dates and facts of all Kolkata adding a bit of local Couleur, while Mr. Mukherjee makes sure you feel good and are comfortable. The tour contained all the must-sees but was adjusted in reference to the order depending on your personal needs (early lunch, coffee break etc). There was always an Option A and Option B and I decided which one I preferred. It was a wonderful day and I can only recommend these 2. The fee is more on the higher side, but I considered it very much worth it! Book them!

 Verified Trip to Shanti niketan and city tour
We had an absolutely wonderful experience with our tour guide in Kolkata. He was engaging and attentive throughout, and clearly went above and beyond to take care of us. Rather than just sticking to the typical tourist spots, he made sure we experienced the everyday rhythm of local life too — which ended up being one of the highlights of the trip. He had a wonderful way of bringing history to life, sharing the stories behind the places we visited rather than just reciting facts. We enjoyed Ravindra Sangeeta during the ride to Shanti Niketan. During the city tour, He introduced us to charming, nostalgic local cafés instead of steering us toward the usual 5-star spots, which gave us a much more authentic taste of the city. What really stood out was how thoughtful and prepared he was — he carried umbrellas for us, kept snacks in the car, and even had hand sanitizer and face-cleansing towelettes on hand. It’s the kind of attention to detail you don’t expect but deeply appreciate. On top of that, his warmth and compassion toward the local people he interacted with said a lot about his character. Highly recommend him if you’re looking for a guide who treats you like family and gives you a real feel for Kolkata, not just a checklist of sights
