Kolkata Sightseeing
I had the pleasure of spending a day with Mr. T. Mukherjee and Mr. Ravi Shankar in Kolkata. Was very positively surprised, when on short notice I requested a change of pickup time and place and immediately got a confirming reply. Mr. Shankar is the man for the dates and facts of all Kolkata adding a bit of local Couleur, while Mr. Mukherjee makes sure you feel good and are comfortable. The tour contained all the must-sees but was adjusted in reference to the order depending on your personal needs (early lunch, coffee break etc). There was always an Option A and Option B and I decided which one I preferred. It was a wonderful day and I can only recommend these 2. Trip to Shanti niketan and city tour
We had an absolutely wonderful experience with our tour guide in Kolkata. He was engaging and attentive throughout, and clearly went above and beyond to take care of us. Rather than just sticking to the typical tourist spots, he made sure we experienced the everyday rhythm of local life too — which ended up being one of the highlights of the trip. He had a wonderful way of bringing history to life, sharing the stories behind the places we visited rather than just reciting facts. We enjoyed Ravindra Sangeeta during the ride to Shanti Niketan. During the city tour, He introduced us to charming, nostalgic local cafés instead of steering us toward the usual 5-star spots, which gave us a much more authentic taste of the city. What really stood out was how thoughtful and prepared he was — he carried umbrellas for us, kept snacks in the car, and even had hand sanitizer and face-cleansing towelettes on hand. It’s the kind of attention to detail you don’t expect but deeply appreciate. On top of that, his warmth and compassion toward the local people he interacted with said a lot about his character. T. Mukherjee foi um excelente guia. Muito atencioso. Inglês bem compreensível para nós. Boas explicações. O tour foi muito bom, com lugares bonitos, históricos, culturais e espirituais. Um agradecimento especial por irmos à igreja portuguesa. Foi também muito agradável termos a oferta de um pequeno lanche no carro bem como a lembrança do bairro dos oleiros e do livro do Prémio Nobel. This half-day tour was one of the highlights of my visit to Kolkata.
