  • Eden Gardens Stadium — Look out for the legendary Eden Gardens, established in the 1860s and today one of the world’s most celebrated cricket grounds, deeply woven into Kolkata’s sporting culture.
  • General Post Office (GPO) — Rising beside B.B.D. Bagh, the grand GPO was completed in 1868 on the site traditionally associated with the original Fort William, its imposing dome reflecting colonial Kolkata’s administrative grandeur.
  • Shaheed Minar — This graceful 48-metre monument, originally built in 1828 as the Ochterlony Monument, was later renamed Shaheed Minar in memory of India’s freedom fighters.
  • Akashvani Bhawan — Passing this historic broadcasting centre, you’ll see the former home of All India Radio in Kolkata, which played an important role in bringing news, music and Bengali culture to generations of listeners.
  • Town Hall — Built in 1813 in the grand Doric style, Kolkata’s Town Hall once hosted important social and civic gatherings and remains a fine reminder of the city’s early colonial public life.

  • Race Course — Established in the 19th century, the Royal Calcutta Turf Club’s racecourse became an important part of colonial Kolkata’s social life and remains one of the city’s historic sporting landmarks.
  • Fort William — Hidden amid the greenery of the Maidan, Fort William was built by the British in the late 18th century after the original fort was replaced, and continues to reflect Kolkata’s strategic importance during the colonial era.
  • St. Andrew’s Church — Built in 1818 for Kolkata’s Scottish community, this elegant church is distinguished by its tall steeple and offers a fascinating glimpse into the diverse European communities that shaped colonial Calcutta.

Trip to Shanti niketan and city tour We had an absolutely wonderful experience with our tour guide in Kolkata. He was engaging and attentive throughout, and clearly went above and beyond to take care of us. Rather than just sticking to the typical tourist spots, he made sure we experienced the everyday rhythm of local life too — which ended up being one of the highlights of the trip. He had a wonderful way of bringing history to life, sharing the stories behind the places we visited rather than just reciting facts. We enjoyed Ravindra Sangeeta during the ride to Shanti Niketan. During the city tour, He introduced us to charming, nostalgic local cafés instead of steering us toward the usual 5-star spots, which gave us a much more authentic taste of the city. What really stood out was how thoughtful and prepared he was — he carried umbrellas for us, kept snacks in the car, and even had hand sanitizer and face-cleansing towelettes on hand. It’s the kind of attention to detail you don’t expect but deeply appreciate. On top of that, his warmth and compassion toward the local people he interacted with said a lot about his character. Highly recommend him if you’re looking for a guide who treats you like family and gives you a real feel for Kolkata, not just a checklist of sights

Exceptional introduction to Kolkata This half-day tour was one of the highlights of my visit to Kolkata. The itinerary was thoughtfully planned and covered many of the city's most fascinating locations, including the vibrant flower market, the iconic Howrah Bridge, Kumartuli, College Street and Mother House. It offered the perfect balance of culture, history, local life, and authentic experiences. What truly made the tour special was the local companion, who was friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate about sharing the spirit of Kolkata. Rather than feeling like a typical sightseeing tour, it felt like exploring the city with a knowledgeable local friend. The insights, stories, and recommendations added tremendous value throughout the experience. The vehicle was comfortable, the pace was relaxed, and everything was organized professionally from start to finish. This tour is ideal for travelers who have limited time but still want to experience the real essence of Kolkata. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Kolkata for the first time. A wonderful and memorable experience!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Exceptional Experience – From Bishnupur to Kolkata City Tour After an incredible Bishnupur day trip with Kolkata Trips, we were so impressed with their service that we decided to book a half-day Kolkata tour as well—and it turned out to be just as Fabulous. Our journey with them began with a seamless and enriching heritage experience in Bishnupur, which set high expectations. Thankfully, their Kolkata city tour exceeded those expectations in every way. The team is extremely professional, punctual, and genuinely committed to delivering a meaningful travel experience. The Kolkata sightseeing tour was perfectly curated for a half-day schedule. Despite limited time, we were able to cover some of the most iconic Kolkata attractions comfortably. What stood out most was the presence of a knowledgeable Kolkata local guide, who added depth and context to every stop. This wasn’t just sightseeing—it felt like walking through the living history of the city. We opted for a private Kolkata tour, which gave us the flexibility to explore at our own pace. The guide was attentive and happy to tailor parts of the experience, making it feel like a truly custom Kolkata tour. Whether it was colonial landmarks, cultural spots, or hidden corners of the city, everything was explained with clarity and enthusiasm. For anyone looking for best Kolkata tours, this is a fantastic option. It works perfectly for travelers with limited time who still want a rich introduction to the city. The comfort of the vehicle, smooth coordination, and well-planned route made it one of the most efficient Kolkata tour packages we’ve experienced. If you’re searching for a reliable Kolkata travel guide or a thoughtfully designed Kolkata heritage tour, Kolkata Trips is a name you can trust. Their consistency—from the Bishnupur experience to the city tour—speaks volumes about their quality and professionalism. Highly recommended for anyone wanting a well-organized and insightful Kolkata guided tour.

Kolkata at its best. Love the way Tirthankar, our guide, makes sure we experience Kolkata as it should be. Never a boring moment. From the travel to the various places, to the food, the signts, sounds and smells. Every bit a memory to carry back home. I will highly recommend his services if you are visiting for the first time. I am sure, you'll reach out to him if you come again.
